PEST CONTROL FOR BEDBUGS
Bed bugs only feed on blood. Under cool conditions, bed bugs have been able to survive up to a year without a meal. They prefer to be more active at night when the host is asleep. Found in cracks and crevices, including mattress seams bed bases, sheets, furniture, behind headboards, electrical outlet plates and picture frames. Often found in hotels, where they can travel from room to room and in visitors’ luggage or other personal belongings. Bed Bugs are small, nocturnal, wingless insects with a flattened body. They feed on human blood and other warm-blooded hosts. They are oval in shape and grow up to 4 to 5 mm long when fully grown. Their skin colour is rust brown to a deeper red brown.
MANAGEMENT
Remove all clutter from your home, which makes finding bed bugs easier.
Wash and dry your bed linens often using the hottest temperature allowed for the fabric.
Closely inspect any second-hand furniture for bed bugs before you bring it into your residence.

PEST CONTROL FOR BIRDS
Birds can transmit diseases, such as Salmonella which is a severe form of food poisoning. The Salmonella bacteria can be found in the bird droppings and also in the eggs of infected Birds.
Birds can offer a safe haven for fleas, bird mites and cockroaches which feed from the birds and their fouled nesting materials and droppings. When the birds have finished nesting and leave, the fleas, mites and cockroaches come searching for us in search of a food source. PEST CONTROL FOR COCKROACHES
Homes and buildings are ideal for cockroaches because they provide food, water, warmth and shelter. The most problematic cockroach in homes is the German cockroach which can breed quickly, and you may also have the American cockroach.

If you can see small dark coloured insects jumping when you walk through carpeted areas or your pets have fleas, you have itching with no relief and have bite marks on your skin which resemble a round red area with a small darker red spot in the centre, then it’s likely that you have a flea infestation.

PEST CONTROL FOR FERAL CATS
Feral cats are an environmental issue in Tasmania, causing injury & death to many small native birds and animals. Originating from the domestic house cat, feral cats are cats that have been abandoned by or run away from their owners and who live life without proper shelter without a master. PEST CONTROL FOR WASPS & BEES
EUROPEAN WASPS, BEE REMOVAL
European wasps generally are 12-15mm long (similar size of a Honeybee). Bright yellow (not orange) with black markings, including arrow-shaped marks down the middle of the abdomen with paired black spots on the sides. Wings are long and transparent, antennae black, and legs mostly yellow. European wasps are mainly active through the spring, summer and into the autumn. Their nests are nearly always concealed and commonly underground, under timber or in a roof space, wall cavity or under your house.
EUROPEAN WASPS AND BEES – A Serious Pest! Wasps will aggressively defend their nest by swarming out to attack a disturbance. The sting received is painful and they can sting multiple times. Bees however can only sting once, they both can cause an anaphylactic reaction if you are allergic. They have also been known to attack dogs and horses.
MANAGEMENT
Given the severity of a wasp or bee infestation in your home, it is always best to leave this to the experts. We have a specific wasp or bee treatment program designed to exterminate them completely. It is important not to approach an active nest as wasps and bees can be very aggressive towards interference. Also be careful of wasps around barbeque or picnic areas, cover food and drinks. Wasps can get into food and drinks where they can be accidently swallowed. If this is the case get medical assistance immediately.
PEST CONTROL FOR SPIDERS
Spiders are usually not aggressive towards humans and generally only bite or cause problems when their space is invaded and they feel threatened. However, the sight of spiders and their webs especially in large numbers, can evoke uneasiness and fear.
If you see unsightly webs and actual large spiders or lots of baby spiders around your home this is generally a good indication that they have just begun breeding and it is the time to call an experienced pest control operator. While possums are native to Australia and a protected species, living with possums in your roof can be frustrating. These out of control critters have been known to chew through electrical wire, conduit and timber, causing great expense, while their droppings and urine can present a health risk and smell can become unbearable.
